Cardboard Pedestal

The goal of this project was to create pedestals that can withstand a 10kg weight using strictly only the limited cardboard we have and no adhesive.
This is designed to suit the garden theme my school library has. The staff from the library also included that she wanted the pedestal to be collapsible as the library has limited space, and to suit the events going all year round, they often have to shift the different furniture they have.

Our 4 pedestals of different size together.
Since we were racing against time,my team and I wanted to come out with something simple, but with good workmanship
The slits may look easy, but it was the most challenging part. We had to do trial and error many times, before getting the perfect fit for all three slots. If there was one slot that was misaligned, the entire pedestal would not be able to balance.
Though we did not use any software, and worked plainly on sketches and discussions, one biggest takeaway from this project is definitely the importance of workmanship. During critique, though our team was not chosen as the top 3 design, we were praised by our lecturer for our workmanship and detailed process journal.
